Make a Trailer Parking Plan

U-Pack moving trailers are a convenient way to move. You get to load at your convenience over several days, and you can use the space you need. But before you can start loading, you have to make a plan for parking. Before we bring the trailer to your home, there are a few parking details to confirm.

Parking Requirements for U-Pack Moving Trailers

Here’s what you’ll need to park a moving trailer:

  • 40 feet of space during drop-off and pickup (for the trailer and the ramp)
  • 10 feet of space in width
  • 14 feet of overhead clearance free of low-hanging tree limbs and electrical wires
  • A solid, level surface
  • Permission for overnight parking (trailers may be parked for up to three business days)

Keep in mind that trailers can’t be parked in fire lanes, in front of fire hydrants or the wrong way on a one-way street.

Other Parking Details

Along with the parking space requirements, it’s important to know that we require someone 18 years or older to be present at drop-off to sign for the equipment and show our driver where to place the trailer. No one needs to be present at pickup; just make sure the trailer is accessible. For pickup at your destination after unloading, check that the trailer is empty and free from debris.
