Summer temperatures are closer, with Baltimore reaching an average high of 88 degrees compared to an average high of 84 degrees in Chicago. Both cities receive similar amounts of rainfall, averaging around 40 inches per year.

Public transportation is extensive in Chicago, but the Baltimore system is smaller, so many residents rely on cars to get around. And there are multiple things to see.
Baltimore has a thriving arts scene, so don’t miss attractions like the American Visionary Art Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Arts and the Walters Art Museum. Literary buffs will also want to visit the gravesite of Edgar Allan Poe at Westminster Hall.

Finding work in Baltimore
As home to several prestigious universities and medical campuses, many residents are employed in education and healthcare.
