On land once ruled by Spain and later Mexico, what is now Dallas became part of the Republic of Texas in the 1840s. Texas was admitted to the Union in December 1845 as the 28th state. The city of Dallas was incorporated in 1856. 

Dallas was a major player in manufacturing during World War II. North American Aviation built over 18,000 aircraft, including the B-24 Liberator, the P-51 Mustang and the T-6 Texan. 

Expect some weather changes

Dallas has a mild climate, like Fremont, but you’ll definitely notice hotter summers. 

Fremont summers were much cooler and dryer than what you’ll experience in Dallas. In Dallas, summers are hot and humid, with high temperatures exceeding the mid-90s. This is quite the contrast to Fremont's high temperatures of only around 77 degrees. 

Fremont usually doesn’t get snow, but you might see a little in Dallas since it averages 1 inch of snowfall per year. Dallas winter low temperatures are around 36 degrees, which is just a bit cooler than the average low temperature of 42 in Fremont.
