Moving Space Estimators

U-Pack ReloCubes, often compared to SMARTBOX containers, are shown here parked in front of a house.

How much space will you
need in our moving equipment?

With U-Pack, you don’t have to worry about paying for space you don’t need — you only pay for what you use. But having a good estimate ahead of time can help you plan more effectively. Use these charts to compare our equipment to home sizes, rental trucks and storage units to get a better idea of what to expect.

Simple space
estimator

Use the chart below to estimate the space needed in a moving trailer (down to a minimum of 5 linear feet) or the number of ReloCubes you might fill.

Home's Square Feet Number of Bedrooms  Trailer Space ReloCubes
Under 600 Studio 5-6 linear feet 1-2
600 - 1000 1 bedroom 7 linear feet 1-2
1200 - 1500 2 bedrooms 13 linear feet 2-3
1500 - 1800 3 bedrooms 17 linear feet 3-4
2000 - 2400 4 bedrooms 23 linear feet 5-6
2800 - 3200 5+ bedrooms 35 linear feet* 7+

*Represents more than one moving trailer

Note: U-Pack moving trailers have approximately 1,944 cubic feet of loading space, and each ReloCube container has 308 cubic feet. You might need more space if your home is heavily furnished or includes storage units or outdoor spaces.
